Lan Wang is a Chinese Australian artist based in the secluded suburb of Bundeena in the south of Sydney. She works mostly with acrylics and
focuses on using subjects of nature to express the intertwining of human emotions and thoughts.

"I wish for my paintings to be like timeless poetry. I try to explore the
quieter and more harmonious realms of the human spirit in my own way, and like the words in poetry, the figures in my works are each symbolic of something. My paintings are not of real events or stories; I only wish for those who see my works to momentarily escape reality, like the birds in the paintings that can fly up high and see the world from a different point of view."
